About Us

Owning a foreign sports car is not a requirement for membership.   Enjoying them is!

The Mid Maine Sports Car Club began with an ad placed in the Camden Herald in June of 2002 when Rockport resident James Lea invited owners of British and European Sports Cars to join in a gathering at Rockport Harbor.

Vertical Consistency Trials, and Car Shows.   We sponsor the Annual Camden Foreign Car Show the first Sunday of June each year.   In the winter months we hold Sunday Luncheons at various area restaurants.

Interest in British and European sports and touring cars had grown rapidly in the mid-coast area in the last few years and so an informal meet was planned for July 28 2002 at the Rockport Marine Park. Over thirty cars attended that first meet and the club was formed then and there. Since then we have had monthly meetings and as you can see from the events calendar the club is thriving.

We sponsor driving events throughout the warm months including tours to interesting sites all over Maine and driving events such as Road Rallies, Funkhanas,  Autocrosses,

As  individuals, and as a group, we enthusiastically support the Owls Head Transportation Museum.   We attend the Museum’s annual Foreign Car Show each Fall and several members are Museum Volunteers.  While many of our members live in Midcoast Maine, we have active members from Blue Hill, Addison, and Brooklin to Brunswick, Harpswell and Orrington.

Owning a foreign Sports or Touring Car is not a requirement for membership.   Enjoying them is!
